The Optical Journey in ENT Surgery: Ever expanding role of Endoscopes

Travelling From Nose to Orbit to Pituitary to Base of Skull.
 Diagnosing and treating Airways diseases.

Exploring Middle Ear to Inner ear and Internal auditory canal.

Sialendoscopes help us to explore the 3mm to 5mm salivary ducts and many instances saving the removal of salivary glands.

Presenting my experience of ongoing journey of learning and updating as a surgeon:
There is a cognitive bias and better control of emotional state as a senior surgeon, but learning a new skill involves extensive pre reading and attending hands on courses, learning from colleagues and discussion with experts in the field from various parts of the world.
We also need to invest in the telescopes and dedicated instruments. We procured our Sialendoscopes and Penetti Ear Surgery instruments for the program.
Anatomy does not change, but with better visualisation-- newer terminologies to be learnt to have a syatematic and scientific approach to diseases and surgeries. As an Otologist, I learnt new endoscopic anatomy of middle ear: Protiniculum, Finiculum, Fustis, Subtympanicus and so on.

Sharing our recent work :
                                            Optic Nerve Decompression (Traumatic injury),

                                                    Sialendoscopy for recurrent sialadenitis,

Endoscopic Ear Surgery for attic disease.
